They face stiff competition on television, but on the Web the Atlanta-based CNN and Weather Channel are clobbering their competitors, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Thanks in part to their large staffs devoted solely to producing Web content, CNN.com is in the top spot in Nielsen Media Research’s news and information category based on time spent on the site, while the Weather Channel’s site, Weather.com, comes in a respectable third place.
