Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin is supporting a plan for free, pornography-free wireless Internet across the country as part of a larger proposal to auction off much of the U.S. airwaves, the Wall Street Journal reports. Such a filtered free Internet service has been opposed by companies in the wireless industry that collect revenue for Internet service as well as consumer advocates who have said filtering out porn amounts to censorship, the Journal says.
