NFL Battles Comcast

The National Football League has almost tripled spending on lobbying, including hiring its first full-time lobbyist, as its battle with Comcast heats up, Bloomberg News reports. The NFL Net blames Comcast for its lack of national distribution. The NFL Network has 42 million viewers on cable and satellite, although the league claims it needs at least 50 million to attract national advertisers, and the NFL says Comcast unfairly cut into the network’s potential audience by moving it to a channel tier with fewer viewers, the news service says.
