More than 200 comments, some from city officials, were made to the FCC before its March 9 deadline for feedback on a request that public, educational and government channels be placed on “equal footing” with basic commercial channels, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The request asks the FCC to define AT&T’s U-verse service as a cable service subject to public, educational and government requirements, the trade paper says.
