HBO’s vampire series “True Blood” gave the pay-cable network its largest non-“Sopranos” audience in more than five years, Multichannel News reports.
The Aug. 23 premiere drew an average 5.3 million viewers, a 20% bump from the previous week, and the best non-“Sopranos” showing since “Deadwood” on April 11, 2005, which was a “Sopranos” lead-out.
The series has two original episodes left this season.
