NBC has given a pilot production commitment to a project featuring an Oscar-winning actress. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that the comedy, "Growing Ivy," features Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino.
The project will also be written by Martino, along with Will McCormack. Martino’s character is said to crave stability, something she lacked in her home life as a child, but later invites her eccentric mother to move in and work on their relationship.
Sarandon, who won an Oscar in 1996 for her lead role in "Dead Man Walking," will play the mom, Franckie.
"Growing Ivy" isn’t the first time Sarandon and her daughter have worked together. They played a mother-daughter pair in 2002’s "The Banger Sisters" and have appeared together on TV and in other features.
