“Nashville” executive producer R.J. Cutler has signed a first-look development deal with CBS Television Studios, reports TheWrap.com.
The Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning director will develop scripted projects for the production company, while he also retains a first-look deal with Showtime.
“I'm so thrilled to be working with David Stapf, Julie McNamara and all the talented people at CBS Studios,” Cutler said. “We've had such a great time developing material over the past couple of years that it just seemed a natural transition to make CBS Studios my scripted television home. Can't wait to get started on creating a new series together.”
