The HBO project “Westworld,” an adaptation of the 1973 Michael Crichton movie about a robot malfunction at a theme park, has cast “Apollo 13” actor Ed Harris as its key villain, Variety reports.

The drama will feature Harris as The Man in Black, with his character described as the “distillation of pure villainy into one man.” The project also stars Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright and Shannon Woodward.

Jonathan Nolan of CBS’s “Person of Interest” will produce and direct.

Harris is a four-time Academy Award nominee, for “Apollo 13,” “The Truman Show,” “Pollock” and “The Hours,” and a two-time Golden Globe winner, for “The Truman Show” and the HBO TV movie “Game Change.”
