According to a a new study from The Diffusion Group, Netflix is “…an incremental threat to premium TV services, in particular,” reports Jeff Baumgartner at Multichannel News.
Baumgartner is quoting a statement by Nick Beyer, an analyst at The Diffusion Group and the “author of the firm’s new study, Netflix Streamers – A Consumer Snapshot.”
Says Beyer, according to the article, “”Today’s Netflix Streamer is significantly less likely to use value-added pay-TV services such [as] PVR, premium sports, and pay-per-view than they were in 2012.”
The numbers supporting this claim, says the article, show that “Netflix usage among the pay TV crowd has risen…from 36% in 2012, to 49% in 2015.”

Netflix is a ‘treat” or a threat?
Hi Cathy. Good catch…We fixed it…We meant to write “threat.”
I saw that too Chuck, but decided not to say anything, because it is both a treat and a threat. A treat for the users and a threat to the cable companies.
