The on-again, off-again girlfriend of one of the biggest stars in Hollywood has committed suicide. TMZ.com reports that the body of Cathriona White, the girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey, was found Monday night at a residence in the Los Angeles area.

“Our sources say White left a suicide note addressed to Carrey which references their breakup on Sept. 24,” TMZ reports. “Cathriona tweeted on the 24th … ‘Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest.'”

Authorities reportedly indicated that White, 28, died of a drug overdose and that pills were found next to her body.

“53-year-old Carrey and White met in 2012, dated a few months and then split,” the report notes. “They rekindled their relationship in May.”
