How Conan Conquered YouTube — and How YouTube Keeps ‘Conan’ Pumped Up

Conan O’Brien has been a YouTube success story, leveraging his TBS late-night show “Conan” into the thriving Team Coco YouTube channel. Adweek’s LostRemote reports that the channel, which has been up and running for five years, has reached 3.5 million subscribers and more than 2 billion video views.

The host’s YouTube success appears to be a good fit with his TBS show. “He still draws the youngest audience of any other late-night show and is also drawing in traditional TV ratings along with his YouTube views,” Adweek notes. The show was up 8% month-to-month in December in adults 18-49, and is up another 5% in January.

Road trips have been an especially popular endeavor for O’Brien, with TBS reporting that viewership spikes for episodes featuring the host’s travels. O’Brien is featuring a trip to Qatar this week with Michelle Obama.
