Why Food Network, HGTV and Travel Channel Are Doing a Simulcast

Food Network, HGTV and Travel Channel are pooling their resources, including getting their top stars together, for an upcoming simulcast to celebrate Halloween. The program, “All-Star Halloween Spectacular,” airs Oct. 8.

Billed as “the ultimate Halloween adventure right in the heart of Sin City,” the one-hour simulcast will feature a competition to create life-size haunted houses along with extravagant desserts.

Hosted by Egypt Sherrod of HGTV’s “Flipping Virgins,” the event will take place at the LINQ Hotel on the Las Vegas strip. Tia Mowry of Food Network’s “Food Network Star Kids” and HGTV “Property Brother” Drew Scott will compete against Duff Goldman of Food Network’s “Worst Bakers in America” and HGTV “Property Brother” Jonathan Scott to determine who can come up with the scariest haunted house in 72 hours. Travel Channel’s Adam Richman of “Secret Eats with Adam Richman” will be on hand tto help both teams.
