The 2016 presidential election, which has been a TV ratings bonanza throughout the long campaign, delivered another milestone Tuesday night: the biggest audience in history for an election night on cable news.
Deadline.com reports that CNN set the record for an election night on a single cable news channel with an average of 13.258 million viewers in prime time.
“FNC followed with 12.112 million from 8-11 p.m. ET, and MSNBC lagged with 5.945 million,” Deadline reports. “Among adults 25-54, CNN was also No. 1 in prime time, with 6.655 million viewers, followed by FNC’s 4.638 million, and MSNBC’s 2.368 million.”
