An actor who was a part of the HBO series “Game of Thrones” — and who was identified by Guinness World Records in 2007 as Britain’s tallest man — has died. The New York Times reports that Neil Fingleton, who played the giant Mag the Mighty on the fantasy series, died Saturday. He was 36.

British media reported that Fingleton died of heart failure.

Born in Durham in northeast England, Fingleton stood 7-foot-7, and was recognized as one of the 25 tallest men in the world. He went to school in the U.S. and played basketball in college, primarily at Holy Cross. He went on to play professionally in England and Spain, and in the NBA Development League. He retired from basketball due to an injury in 2007.

He went on to small roles in the movies and on TV, including an appearance on “Doctor Who.”
