Turner Classic Movies announced that it will air a tribute to Robert Osborne, the longtime presenter for the channel who died Monday at age 84.

TCM will run a 48-hour tribute all day Saturday, March 18, and Sunday, March 19, in celebration of Osborne’s 23-year tenure with the cable channel, the AP reports.

“The tribute will feature long-form interviews conducted by Osborne, an interview of Osborne conducted by Alec Baldwin for the host’s 20th anniversary and Osborne’s very first movie intro, filmed for Turner Classic’s first broadcast in 1994, for ‘Gone With the Wind,'” the AP reports.

  1. I will miss him very much! Learned so much from him and always loved his intros as well as final comments at the end.

  2. Robert Osborne was the best; one of a kind…I used to listen to him on the radio (KIEV) L.A. driving home from my magazine job in Newport Beach. He was erudite, funny and most of all, a true gentleman. My wife and I are both saddened by his absence from TCM and ultimately, his passing. There will never be another with the grace, wit and his informative descriptions of films.
