The viewer numbers for NBC’s new prime-time Megyn Kelly program show that the broadcast has been experiencing viewer erosion.

Variety reports that the latest installment of “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” fell to a new low, both in total viewers and in the key 18-49 demo, based on overnights.

“Airing at 7 p.m., ‘Sunday Night’ averaged a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen data,” Variety reports, noting that the numbers are down from a 0.5 demo rating and 3.6 million viewers a week earlier, when Kelly interviewed InfoWars founder Alex Jones.

The show got off to a strong start on June 4, when Kelly launched the program with an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Kelly” delivered 6.1 million total viewers that night, based on Nielsen live plus same day figures, along with a 1.2 average rating in the key news demo of viewers 25-54.

  1. It’s all downhill from here Megan darling.

  2. Why are they airing this show opposite “60 Minutes” during the summer? Except for “Dateline NBC”, NBC has a long track record of news magazine flops (there must be at least 30 failed news magazine shows over the years).

The June 25th episode of “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” actually had an eye-opening segment about the health care fraud occurring by certain medical facilities, against medical insurance companies at the patients’ expense. A must-see segment for members of Congress currently debating health care reform

  3. Not a good lead in for the weekday show…uh oh.

  4. Cannot Understand News Television

  5. Not having O’Reiley as a lead-in, and jousting with “60 Minutes” has proven a costly gamble for inept NBC News executives who have Brian Williams to hold up as their shining example of integrity… Kelley is talented enough (although not a great or even good interviewer by comparison) but tossing her into the Perry me time Frey against “60 Minutes” is a bit like replacing an injured quarterback in the playoffs. The replacement may ha e long-term potential. It in the withering lights of that stage, it becomes a theater with ever-emptying seats.
