Actor Stacy Keach has reportedly been in a Chicago-area hospital after having a heart attack midway through the opening-night performance of the play “Pamplona.” Keach stars as Ernest Hemingway in the one-man show.

The AP cites Goodman Theatre artistic director Robert Falls saying Keach, 76, became unwell halfway through the May 30 performance. That night’s performance was canceled, along with the entire run of the show.

Keach was expected to be released from the hospital today.

“Falls, who directed ‘Pamplona,’ says he visited Keach on Tuesday and found him in good spirits,” the AP reports. “He says Keach was sitting up and studying the script and asked, ‘When are we rescheduling?””

The play may be revived at the Goodman next year.
