Corinne Olympios, the “Bachelor in Paradise” contestant who was involved in a sexual assault scandal that got the production shut down, is pointing the finger at producers.

TMZ.com reports that Olympios “claims she was in a blackout state when she got sexual with fellow ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ star DeMario Jackson … and she blames producers for not pulling the plug and protecting her, although our sources say people who have seen the tape claim she was lucid and fully engaged.”

The report adds: “Sources close to Corinne tell TMZ she was drunk the entire day of filming when she ended up naked in the swimming pool with DeMario. Although DeMario remembers everything — from ‘rubbing, touching and fingering’ to licking her genitals — she says she remembers nothing.”

Olympios is saying she heard details of the incident from other cast members after the fact, according to the report.

“She says several cast members told her they had voiced concern to people on the production crew that she was in no position to consent to sexual activity, but the crew did not heed their warnings,” TMZ reports, noting that production sources have said no cast members came forward to warn that Olympios was too drunk.

The production is shut down while the incident is being investigated. TMZ notes that Olympios has “lawyered up.”

The incident marks the first time in the history of ABC’s “Bachelor”/”Bachelorette” franchise that production has been suspended, The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

THR adds that ABC is considering canceling the entire season.

  1. Why are producers still serving alcohol to the contestants on the show? Every edition of “The Bachelor”, “The Bachelorette”, and “Bachelor in Paradise” offers alcohol to people on the show. This isn’t the first time something like this has occurred on the show–someone on “Bachelor in Paradise” last year also got heavily drunk, and had a fling on the show. Other people also have been naked in the pool before, including Corrinne Olympios—ABC sensors blacked out certain body parts when those shows aired on “The Bachelor”. Don’t the contestants sign contracts before appearing on the show, protecting the producers and ABC in situations like this?

If the producers wanted drama, they got it. The producers should have sent the two people involved home, and kept the production going (without alcohol). What a waste of everyone’s time.

It’s also worth noting that DeMario Jackson was also kicked off “The Bachelorette” (a few months ago), for having a girlfriend just prior to being on the show. The episode just aired a few weeks ago. Why was DeMario even on “Bachelor in Paradise” this year?
