NBC just issued a renewal to a series that’s about a week into its second season. Picked up for a third season was the alternative series “Ellen’s Game of Games.”

“The renewal for the Ellen DeGeneres-hosted game show comes amid strong ratings,” Deadline notes. “‘Ellen’s Game of Games’ returned to the NBC schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 8, as the night’s No. 1 entertainment program in the key adult 18-49 demo. Its 1.5 rating won the 8  PM ET hour over CBS’ ‘NCIS’ and ABC’s comedy duo of ‘The Conners’ and ‘The Kids Are Alright.’ In L+3, the premiere grew by 18% in 18-49 to 1.80 and +821,000 viewers overall to 7.4 million. This week’s telecast increased its timeslot lead while growing by 13% week to week in 18-49 to a 1.7 rating.”

The show reportedly ranked as the No. 1 new alternative series of the 2017-2018 season, both in total viewers and in the key 18-49 demo.
