Who Won the 2018-2019 TV Season? It Depends on Who’s Spinning The Numbers

With three nights left to count in the traditional broadcast season, the ratings results show that NBC won the key 18-49 demo while CBS won total viewers — which has been the pattern pretty consistently in recent years.

CBS did some crowing last week about coming in as “America’s Most Watched Network” for the 11th straight season and the 16th time in 17 years, as we reported previously. Today it was NBC’s turn, and the Peacock had its own crowing to do.

In an announcement sent out today, NBC noted that it won the 18-49 demo for the fifth time in six years. The network also made the point that it won the season in all programs, entertainment programs only, scripted programs only and alternative programs only.

NBC, which finished second to CBS in total viewers, added that this was its most competitive season in that metric, excluding sports, since 2002-2003.

  1. And Netflix has 61.97 million subscribers in the US.

    • But they are not all watching the same shows.
